Manual Outlook Email Settings
#1
Information
Hi,

We often get asked how to set up your Outlook email settings, so here I'll provide a step by step guide that will hopefully help.

This is based on Outlook 2013, but should be similar for most versions.

First, click File > Add Account to bring up the Add Account window:

Select "Manual setup or additional server types", and then click Next >

You'll then see the following:

Select "POP or IMAP" and click Next >

You can now enter your POP And IMAP Account Settings:

Under User Information enter the name you'd like to use, and your full email address.

Under Server Information use the details provided in your cPanel by clicking Email Accounts > Clicking the More drop down next to any of your email accounts > Configure Email Client

We strongly recommend you use the "Secure SSL/TLS Settings (Recommended)" settings.

Account Type: Select IMAP or POP3. We recommend IMAP, which keeps your email in sync with the server
Incoming mail server: Enter the incoming server provided under Manual Settings in your cPanel
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Enter the same server here

Under Logon Information enter the following:
User Name: Enter your full email address
Password: Enter the email account's password you setup in your cPanel

Tick the checkbox for "Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)"

This window should now be filled in correctly.

Now click More Settings ... to bring up the Internet E-mail Settings window:

Click the Outgoing Server tab, and tick the checkbox for "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"
"Use same settings as my incoming mail server" should be selected by default.

Now click the Advanced tab:

Change "Incoming Server (IMAP):" from 143 to 993
For "Use the following type of encrypted connection:" select SSL

Change "Outgoing server (SMTP):" from 25 to 465
For "Use the following type of encrypted connection:" select SSL again

Click OK to close the Internet E-Mail Settings window.

Back on the Add Account window, click Next

It should now be setup correctly and successfully send a test message.

Give yourself a pat on the back, you're now good to go!

If you have any general questions then feel free to ask here.

For specific help with your account then just get in touch in the usual way.

We hope that helps,

Dan
